The North Carolina Railroad Company (NCRR) is a private state-owned company. As a private company, the NCRR has minimal reporting requirements and receives little state oversite. The citizens of North Carolina would be better served with the dissolution of the NCRR and the North Carolina Department of Transportation assuming the management of the state-owned rail system.
